OPINION: CELTIC SUPPORTERS NOW HAVE TWO COMPELLING REASONS TO WATCH THE NORWICH GAME.
Following
recent remarks made by Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou, any Celtic supporters
who weren't going to attend the Hoops' last preseason match against Norwich on
Saturday may have changed their minds.
According
to the Celtic Way, the Hoops manager has stated that recent Celtic newcomers
Moritz Jenz and Aaron Mooy will play for the Bhoys in the match because they
have been training at Lennoxtown. Giorgios Giakoumaks, a striker, will also
play after missing some games because his wife gave birth.
Giakouamkis'
return is wonderful news, and it wouldn't be surprising to see him start
against Norwich, but the real big news is that the new additions are expected
to play.
The
Jenz and Mooy update is a reason for fans to attend the game or watch it on
television since, to be very honest, it is perhaps the most intriguing aspect
of the match.
Fans
will be curious to watch how the new Hoops combination performs in their first
game for Celtic and whether either of them will perform well enough to play for
the Hoops in the upcoming league opener against Aberdeen.
There will be plenty of substitutions, as there always are in preseason friendlies, so it will be interesting to see if Mooy and Jenz start the game for the Bhoys or come off the bench.
Even
while neither player now appears set to start for the Hoops in the opening
Premiership game of the season, Mooy and Jenz could still make the Celtic team
if they both perform well.
The
Hoops' season is about to officially begin, so team members will be eager to
make a good impression on Ange Postecoglou in their final preseason game. Since
they have only recently joined the team, that doesn't really apply to Mooy and
Jenz, but if they play against Norwich they will want to do well for the Bhoys
to start their Celtic careers off right.
The
Hoops will aim to finish the run of games on a high note before the real action
starts because Celtic are unbeaten thus far in preseason. It appears like Mooy
and Jenz will have the opportunity to keep the Bhoys unblemished while also
making an early case for playing time with the first squad.
